Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-29
This Privacy Policy explains how DLLM Development Team ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use GoAround, our map-based tourism-video explorer (the "Service").
1. Who We Are
Service name: GoAroundOperator: DLLM Development Team
Website: goaround.dllmstack.com
Contact email: [email protected]
For the purposes of UK data protection laws, we act as the data controller of your personal data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information from Google sign-in
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the basic account information Google makes available to us, such as your name, email address, account identifier, and profile image. We do not receive or store your Google password.
2.2 Preferences
We store your display-language preference and, where you choose them, data-language preferences. When signed in, these preferences may be associated with your account.
2.3 Automatically collected information
We and our infrastructure providers may process limited technical information, including:
- IP address and request logs
- Browser, device, and operating-system information
- Information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal data only as needed to:
- Provide and operate the Service
- Authenticate signed-in users and manage accounts
- Remember your language and cookie preferences
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and resolve technical issues
- Improve the reliability and performance of the Service
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Where UK GDPR applies, we process personal data under these lawful bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you request
- Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Service
- Consent — where it is required and you have given it
5. Cookies
GoAround uses essential cookies to keep the Service working, support secure authentication, and remember your cookie choice. With your permission, we also use optional preference cookies to remember language, map, and video-filter settings. We do not set analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.
Our essential cookies include:
goaround_cookie_consent, which records your cookie-notice choice for one year.goaround_display_language, an optional preference cookie that remembers your display-language choice for one year.goaround_explorer_preferences, an optional preference cookie that remembers your data-language choices, map view, and video filters for one year.__Secure-better-auth.session_tokenin production (orbetter-auth.session_tokenin non-secure environments), which keeps a signed-in session secure for up to seven days.
You can accept or reject optional preference cookies, and change that choice at any time through the Cookies option in the account menu. Rejecting them removes stored local preferences but does not change preferences saved to a signed-in account. You can also control or delete cookies in your browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may affect some features.
6. Sharing Your Information
We may share data only with service providers that help us run the Service, including:
- Google, when you use Google to sign in
- OpenStreetMap, which supplies the map tiles displayed in the Service
- Hosting, database, security, and infrastructure providers
- Authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety
We do not share personal data for marketing purposes.
7. Maps, Video Providers, and External Links
When you view the map, your browser requests map tiles directly from OpenStreetMap. This means OpenStreetMap may receive your IP address, browser information, and the tile requests needed to display the map. Its handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy.
GoAround displays links to tourism videos hosted by third-party providers, including YouTube. When you follow one of these links, that provider's privacy policy applies. We do not control the information third parties collect on their websites or apps.
8. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including secure authentication and access controls, to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security and system integrity. Limited backup or log data may be retained for a reasonable period for these purposes.
9. Your Rights
If you are in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Restrict or object to our processing of your personal data
- Request a portable copy of your personal data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Complain to your local data-protection authority
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us personal data, please contact us.
11. International Transfers
Your information may be processed or stored outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date above.
